The Advantage of a North Carolina Based School

North Carolina Specific Training

The Home Inspection Training Center is the Only School for Pre-Licensing Training in the State. Most other programs partner with out of state companies that ignore North Carolina specific Standards & Codes (Some even use materials written for Canada). Our 8000 sq.ft training facility and custom developed North Carolina training materials provide students with opportunities unlike any other. North Carolina is a unique state, and you should choose a program that directly addresses NC Codes & Standards. Graduates of the Home Inspection Training Center excel past graduates of any other program in both NC State Exam Passing Rates & in the Field.

Proven Potential of Graduates

A large difference in our program is that we teach field compatible procedures designed for North Carolina. Our program teaches you unique procedures that remove guesswork, but most importantly are focused directly on North Carolina. You want to become a North Carolina Home Inspector, so enroll in a training program that focuses on your home state. Our graduates thrive in this field and in this state, because we provide the right training in a structured and repeatable curriculum designed to pair with NC. We train in accordance with industry best practices, with our educational programs exceeding minimum requirements. If you want to exceed in this field, you need to train with the best.

NC Exam Passing Rates

The North Carolina Home Inspection Licensure Board continually publishes passing rates of graduates from training programs across the state. The first question you should ask your training program is what is their passing rate for the North Carolina Exam and whether that passing rate assumes you enroll in a supplementary pass the exam course (extra $500 cost on average, but included with our program). The Home Inspection Training Center boasts the highest NCHILB published score with a >90% first-time passing rate. The North Carolina exam is very difficult and specific to our state, so choose a program tailored to North Carolina to help you become a capable North Carolina Home Inspector. The majority of training programs refer to your field training as running out the clock, but we see field and in-person training as more important than your online academic. Your online academic program helps you to build a knowledge-set that your instructors can depend on. You can't learn procedures alone in a house with a preoccupied first-time instructor, instead a structured training program ensures that your time is put to good use. To prepare for this exam and for your new career, we need every minute of your 200 hour program to be beneficial to your learning.

Dedication to You & Your Field

Earning your license is the first step to a successful career, and through Inspector Nation we support over 95% of licensed home inspectors in North Carolina through continuing education, direct specialist support, and our work with our licensing board. As a well-established full time technical school and the largest pre/post licensing trainer in the state, our dedication is to the betterment of this industry and to your success. North Carolina recently went through a building code update, and we informed our inspectors on the changes ahead of time. During the last Standards of Practice update in North Carolina, Inspector Nation submitted 100% of the received public comments by the licensing board (with close to 95% being approved and implemented). For the past 20 years, our company has been contracted to write the State mandatory update course that all licensed home inspectors are required to take annually. The NCHILB Suggested Langauge Statements (SLS) were contracted to and written by our team. We are the only pre-licensing training program working to keep you informed and protected throughout your home inspection career.

Testimonials

When I came to the Home Inspection Training Center, I had really did not know anything about construction or inspection.  When I think back to day one of your training, I can not believe how much I learned. I have a new outlook on life and the buildings we call home. I can not tell you how much this program has changed my life. After two months with my home inspection licenses, I have left my job as a department store manager, I have time for my family, holidays off and money to enjoy life again. Thank You   James

I have to admit after working as a Plumber and HVAC installer for 20 years, I really felt that I knew enough to become a home inspector. When NC said I had to take a pre-licensing program, I was not a happy camper. I would have never thought that there was so much to know as a home inspector. It is not about repairing or installing, it is about inspecting with a full understanding of the systems! Your program filled in the weak spots and taught me, how to become an inspector. Home Inspection has been an excellent way to add cash flow to our business! Thank You and see you this summer for CE.  John

As a general contractor and engineer, NC allowed me to take the home inspection exam, and I can not thank you enough for helping me with that exam. It was tough! I made a top score of 88.5%. It did not take long for me to realize that I had a home inspection license, but did not know how to inspect. Your programs are excellent, procedures for everything! That is exactly what I needed. I can now walk up to a house with confidence. I have taken many educational and training programs, but Thomas and Bonnie are the best! If you want to be a home inspector, you need to be trained by someone who not only loves this job but is great at it. Dan

I am person who just does not like reading or school.  I have to admit I read and studied more in the home inspection training program than in high school. I look back and am not sure how I did it. How did I learn so much in such a short time? I know how, this is a great program and you can not help but be motivated by the Gregory's. It is not about money or pushing students through, it is about teaching and enjoying what you do. You will be challenged, you will be encouraged, and you will be trained.   Mike

I would have never thought home inspection covered so many topics.  The key is the home inspection school, not random inspections but planned classes and demonstrations. I am a person that needs to put my hands on stuff to learn. The furnace class was unbelievable. I came in knowing nothing and came out understanding furnaces, all their parts, and how to inspect them. I went home and found that my flame roll out switch had been overridden! I called my service company and they discovered a crack in the heat exchanger of my furnace! Bonnie Thank you so much for recommending home inspection, I love it! Ray

I have been a HVAC engineer for 10 years, so I took the Home Inspection exam the first time without any study materials or training, needless to say I was not successful.   Bonnie, thank you so much for taking the time to help me sort through the materials and find the areas that I needed to study.   Thank you for making sure that I passed the exam and helping me become an excellent inspector.   I found my first cracked furnace today!  What  a RUSH!  Jack

On day 2 of my field training, I knew I was in trouble. I had signed up to train with a local home inspector through an online-only education provider. While the trainer may have been a good home inspector, he was clearly not a teacher. He seemed unprepared for my questions, and unprepared for someone at my level of experience. After those 2 days, I began to look elsewhere. I called 4 home inspectors in my area, and they all recommended the Gregory's and The Home Inspection Training Center. From now on, The Home Inspection Training Center is the first call I make before any move. Joseph
